Glacies Biome · AI skin intelligence
Day 0 starts the journey. Day 14 unlocks the next tier.
AI skin intelligence · Written by Nihat Aliyev, CEO & Co-founder
When we started showing Glacies to clinic owners, two objections came up every time. The first was price. The second was the microbiome: a lab result takes about two weeks, and a two-week gap in an aesthetic consultation can feel like a lifetime. Who wants to wait before they can begin?
In our system, the client does not have to wait for the laboratory to start their journey. The plan the physician releases goes live in the client’s app on Day 0. It contains the first actions, the planned sessions and the daily routine. The client can start that day, with a plan their physician has reviewed.
The first two weeks are part of the journey
Over the next two weeks, every session recorded, routine logged and photo taken adds context to the profile. Separately, the laboratory processes the skin swab. When the result is available and reviewed, usually around Day 14, the microbiome tier of the Skin Index can be added. These complementary sources of information come together for the physician’s review.
A calibration indicator helps explain where the client is in the product experience. The two weeks are not a delay in front of the product. They are the first two weeks of using it.
A profile with more than one source of context
This changes how I think about the client experience. A client can see what their physician has released and begin to understand what each step is for. Photos and routine records make the time between appointments part of the conversation. By the time the microbiome result is reviewed, the client is already in a journey they chose, rather than waiting to be given a plan.
It also changes what the microbiome is for. It is not a lab report stapled to a consultation. It adds biological context to a product the client is already using. The laboratory estimates the relative abundance of bacteria from sampled sites; the interpretation of those patterns belongs alongside imaging, history and the physician’s judgment. Neither a photograph nor a swab explains every cause of a skin concern.
Day 0
The physician releases the plan. First actions and a daily routine are available.
Around Day 14
When available and reviewed, the lab result adds the microbiome tier. Routine and photo records add separate context.
Around Month 3
A repeat swab and photos support a review. The physician and client agree the next phase of their 3, 6 or 12-month journey.
Month 3 is a checkpoint, not an automatic restart
We plan a re-test at around three months. New photos and new bacterial community estimates can be compared with earlier measurements alongside the treatment and routine record. That comparison shows observed change; it does not, on its own, prove that a particular treatment caused it.
Journeys can run for 3, 6 or 12 months. A three-month checkpoint can sit within a longer journey. The client and physician review the information and agree what comes next: whether to continue, adjust the next phase or discuss a new journey when appropriate. There is no automatic ending or restart at Month 3.
For clinic owners, this is a way to structure follow-up around something more useful than a reminder at the front desk. It is an opportunity to make the next conversation more informed, with a shared record of the journey so far.
